LYON-CORBAS AVIATION MUSEUM
The Clément ADER museum ensures both the restoration and the exhibition of the goods it offers for visit. The restoration of aircraft carries out work whose quality has been rewarded, particularly by the classification of our Mirage IV-P as historical monuments and the obtaining of the “Atelier du Patrimoine Aéronautique Vivant” label for its technical teams.
The exhibition offers unique visit conditions in France since all our visits are guided (no free visit is possible). This allows visitors to get as close as possible to the devices and to benefit from the explanations of the guide who, moreover, is able to answer visitor’s questions. Despite the constraints that these visiting methods entail (training of guides, availability), the feedback we get from our visitors is excellent.
Several spaces for different collections
AIRCRAFT AREA
Our aircrafts are representative of the national aeronautical heritage, either because they come from the French aeronautical industry or because they served in our armed forces. They are restored and presented in their operational configuration, although they are not intended to be airworthy again.
All our visits are accompanied and commented. Pictures allowed!
MODEL AREA
Within this space, come and discover an impressive collection of models, scale models or dioramas, planes and helicopters,
coming from donations all over France.
About 600 models are exhibited in a dedicated space!
ENGINE AREA
The “Louis Seguin” area invites you to discover some forty engines, from piston to turbojets, including rocket and space engines. You will be able to understand how turbojets work using our animated models
A gold mine for the curious, budding engineers and enthusiasts!
B.A.942 AREA
This area is the showcase of Lyon Mont Verdun Air Base 942. It was opened to visitors on May 11, 2015 and presents
equipment and photos of the only French air base without planes.
The only French air base without a runway!
