Located on Corbas airfield, south of Lyon, the aviation museum “clément Ader” proposes to discover, from guided tours only (no free visits allowed), a large collection of aircrafts, engines and equipments representing a century of French Aviation, from 1908 to present. The museum is managed by an association (EALC: Espaces Aero lyon Corbas) of more than a hundred members, all volunteers. The association supports the restoration of all the exhibits and also provides aeronautical formation for students and tries to enhance aeronautical culture by the means of conferences, dedicated library (more than 3000 books) and through an important documentary background.

Some exemples of visitors reviews
Maintained and served by a group of enthusiasts, I was able to visit the museum with the advice of one of its members. We were able to benefit from a lot of very relevant information. Very interesting. I recommend this tour to all aviation enthusiasts and thank you to the whole team.

I am not particularly interested in planes but I was really surprised of my visit and I will keep a very good memory of this place: people who make the guided tour are volunteer, dedicated, passionate, it was very interesting and funny (a lot of small stories), don’t miss it!

It’s a little bit complicated to get to but worth it if you’re an aviation enthusiast. You’ll see planes you won’t get to see other places, like the Mirage IV. The volunteer staff are all former pilots of the aircraft shown or aircraft mechanics or other aviation professionals and have a deep passion for French aviation. Our guide, Jean-Paul was fantastic and made the visit even more special. It’s a bit complicated to get to.

Little known aviation museum near Lyon with an incredible collection of mainly french aircraft’s from all periods. The guides are very friendly and useful and you can even spend some time inside the cockpits of a decommissioned Mirage 2000 and Jaguar. Highly recommended !

A very friendly welcome given to us last Sunday (28/6/15) for just €7 each we were given our fluent English speaking guide who took time to explain all of the exhibits on show at this small museum. At last we did not have enough time to stay longer as we were scheduled to fly home from Geneve the same evening. Our sincere thanks to all that run and explain all about this museum.
